McArthurGlen Designer Outlets belongs to the McArthurGlen Group, Europe’s leading developer, owner and manager of designer outlets introducing outlet retailing to Europe in 1995. Its current portfolio covers 19 designer outlet villages across the UK and Europe with more than 500,000 m2 of retail space, housing over 750 brands in more than 2000 stores. Visited by over 75 million people in 2009 the portfolio generated nearly €2 milliard in retail sales. Currently planned is the first designer outlet village in Greece located on the edge of Athens and a second designer outlet in Germany, in Neumünster, near Hamburg. In 2008 the McArthurGlen Group has opened a new division in airport retailing, called Collezioni in Venice’s Marco Polo Airport. Followed by new Collezioni schemes in Dublin and Porto (Portugal) airports, its fourth scheme will follow in Glasgow airport in 2010.[1]
