The Roman Catholic Diocese of Malacca-Johor (Latin: Dioecesis Melakanus-Giohoranus) is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic Church in the Ecclesiastical province of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. It is located in the southern region of Malaysia, administering 2 states, namely Malacca and Johor.

History

• February 4, 1558: Established as the Diocese of Malacca ^{[1] [2]} was suffragan (other being Diocese of Cochin) to the Archdiocese of Goa^[3]
• 1838: Suppressed
• September 10, 1841: Restored as the Apostolic Vicariate of Western Siam from the Apostolic Vicariate of Siam^[4]
• August 19, 1888: Promoted as the Diocese of Malacca ^{[1] [2]}
• September 19, 1953: Promoted as Archdiocese of Malacca
• February 25, 1955: Promoted as Metropolitan Archdiocese of Malacca-Singapore
• On December 18, 1972, the diocese was demoted as the Diocese of Malacca-Johor, when the Archdiocese of Malacca-Singapore was split into the Archdiocese of Singapore and this diocese.
• On May 27, 1985, the name was changed to the diocese of Malaka-Johor. The diocese is suffragan to the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur
