John Lynch (born December 26, 1961) is a Northern Irish actor.

Biography

Lynch was born in Corrinshego, near Newry, County Armagh in Northern Ireland. He attended St Colman's College, Newry, an all-Catholic school. Lynch has said that his family was not political but were "affected" by the Troubles. His mother is Italian, and he is the brother of British-based actress of films and TV, Susan Lynch. His other sister Pauline Lynch is also an actress, but formally worked as a English and drama teacher in Saint Patrick's Grammar School, Downpatrick. She has now moved on to another school, but it is currently unknown.

Lynch has appeared in numerous films related to Northern Ireland's problems, such as "Cal", "In the Name of the Father", "The Railway Station Man", "Nothing Personal" and "Some Mother's Son", as well as the Irish-themed film "Evelyn", with Pierce Brosnan, Aidan Quinn and Julianna Margulies.

Lynch played George Best in the 1999 film "Best", directed by his wife Mary McGuckian.
