Electoral district of King

Electoral district of King

Sydney-King was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales, created in 1894 in central Sydney from part of the electoral district of East Sydney and named after Governor King. It was initially east of George Street, north of Liverpool Street and Oxford Street and west of Riley Street. In 1904 it changed its name to King and in 1920, with the introduction of proportional representation, it was absorbed into the multi-member electorate of Sydney. It was recreated in 1927, but it was abolished in 1973 and partly replaced by Heffron. [cite web
