A referendum on whether Norway should introduce Prohibition was held on October 5 and 6, 1919. A partial prohibition had been in effect since 1917. The prohibition proposal did not include all types of alcohol, only spirits. The results were as following:

  • Yes 61,6 %
  • No 39,4 %

A referendum on whether the prohibition should be maintained was held in 1926, resulting in an overturn of the prohibition.
