For a European Serbia

For a European Serbia

For a European Serbia – Boris Tadić (Serbian: За европску Србију – Борис Тадић, "Za Evropsku Srbiju - Boris Tadić") is an electoral coalition that won the Serbian parliamentary election, 2008, Vojvodina parliamentary election, 2008 and Serbian local elections, 2008. The coalition was formed by: the Democratic Party, G17+, Serbian Renewal Movement, League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina and Sanjak Democratic Party. The coalition was joined by Veroljub Stevanović branch of Serbian Democratic Renewal Movement and by the Serbian List for Kosovo and Metohija through G17+. Each of these parties holds one seat on the list. All parties will run as a part of the coalition, except:
*Vojvodina parliamentary election, 2008, where the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina formed an alliance with some regionalist parties, named Together for Vojvodina. The Sanjak Democratic Party can't run in Vojvodina.
*Local elections, where LSV will run alone or in separate coalitions.
*Local elections, where the Serbian Renewal Movement also forms its own coalitions in municipalities, including with LSV (in Novi Sad), G17+ (in Pančevo) and New Serbia (in Beocin).
*Local elections, where G17+ sometimes runs alone (eg. in Leskovac)
*Niš where G17+ Serbian Renewal Movement and were part of the ruling coalition in the last year. The Democratic Party refused to enter into a pre-election coalition with G17+ in the city.
*Kragujevac where G17+ is in coalition with Stevanovic's Together for Kragujevac

Boris Tadić claimed victory in parliamentary elections, on May 11, 2008, despite a challenge from nationalist groups. His "For a European Serbia" alliance spearheaded by the DS was set to secure 39% of the vote. Specifically, his Coalition for European Serbia, held 38% of the vote, for 103 seats, while Tomislav Nikolić's Serbian Radical Party held 29.6%, or 78 seats, CeSID. Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica's Democratic Party of Serbia held 11.3%, or 30 seats. The result of Tadic's coalition was the greatest in Serbian parliamentarism since 2000 and the greatest in his party's history.
