The family of Manus languages is a subgroup of the Eastern Admiralty Islands languages. It consists of 22 languages.[1]

Languages

A 2008 analysis of four Manus languages in the Austronesian Basic Vocabulary Database[2] fully supported the unity of the family. It showed that Loniu is closer to Leipon (East Manus) than it is to Likum and Levei (West Manus).

  • Loniu – East Manus
    • East Manus: Andra-Hus, Elu, Ere, Kele, Kurti, Koro, Leipon, Lele, Nali, Papitalai, Ponam, Titan
    • Mokoreng–Loniu: Loniu, Mokerang
  • West Manus: Bipi, Likum, Nyindrou, Hermit (†), Mondropolon, Tulu-Bohuai, Sori-Harengan, Khehek (Drehet, Levei)
