Brigadier Andrew Alexander Nikolić CSC, is a senior officer within the Australian Army.

Andrew Nikolić enlisted in the Australian Army in January 1979, where he was posted to the 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment. After 18 months of service he subsequently attended the Officer Cadet School Portsea, and returned to the Infantry Corps as a Second Lieutenant in June 1981.

Nikolić's overseas postings include: a United Nations Military Observer in Israel, Syria and South Lebanon (November 1990 - November 1991); as Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of the Australian National Headquarters during the first rotation of Operation Slipper in the Middle East (October 2001 - March 2002); and as the National Command Representative for Australian Forces in Southern Iraq (February - October 2005). In addition to his national command responsibilities in Southern Iraq, he concurrently served as Chief of Staff of the British-led Multinational Division (South East).

In addition to his military qualifications, Brigadier Nikolić holds Bachelor Degrees in Arts and Social Science, and three Masters Degrees in Management, International Relations and Strategic Studies.

Brigadier Nikolić assumed the appointment as Director General Public Affairs in July 2007, replacing Brigadier Peter "Gus" Gilmore DSC. He relinquished command of this position in June, 2008, being succeeded by Brigadier Brian Dawson AM.

Andrew has three children, Julia, Amanda and Matthew.
