Minister for Ageing (Australia)

The Australian Minister for Ageing is Justine Elliot, who was appointed on 3 December 2007, following the Labor Party's win at the 2007 election. The minister's position is within the portfolio of the Minister of Health and Ageing, Nicola Roxon and is responsible for "policy for and the promotion of active ageing, other than income security and employment policy" and is administered through the Department of Health and Ageing. Australian ministers for ageing

There have been ministers for aged care or ageing since Peter Morris was appointed Minister for Housing and Aged Care in 1988, except from 1993 to 1998, but the title to the porttfolio first became Minister for Ageing in 2001.
