Robert Radu Hervian

Robert Radu Hervian (born June 13, 1946) is an American businessman, a journalist and an English-Romanian translator. He was born in Bucharest, Romania, son of a Romanian publicist [ [http://www.romanianjewish.org/ro/mosteniri_ale_culturii_iudaice_03_11_11.html Comunitatea Evreiasca din Romania ] ] . Between 1956-57 he lived in Beijing, China where he accompanied his father working as a press correspondent for the Romanian News Agency – "Agerpres".

Educated at the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest he graduated in 1972 with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

In 1975 Hervian emigrated to the United States and for 10 years worked as an Aerospace Engineer for several U.S. Companies, providing expertise in designing of hydraulically and electrical mechanisms employed in the aircraft and the space shuttle construction.

Since 1987 Hervian is the owner and the CEO of [http://www.airfareworldvision.com/ WORLDVISION TRAVEL] , a Worldwide Wholesale Travel Service with headquarters in New Jersey and specialized in discounted international airfares. WORLDVISION is assisting smaller travel agencies in securing lower airfares, provides long term reduced rate transportation for American missionaries with overseas programs, as well as general sales to the public at large.

In 2002, Hervian became the U.S. correspondent and is writing a monthly column on U.S. politics and culture for "MINIMUM", a Tel Aviv based magazine. In this capacity, Hervian has also interviewed many American politicians and intellectuals. Among them : The playwright David Auburn, Dr.Marco Zaider from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch, Dr.Radu Ioanid, Director of Programs at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Dr.Daniel Pipes, Director of The Middle East Forum, Douglas Feith, Former Undersecretary of Defense , the writers Norman Manea and Andre Aciman.

Robert Hervian is the English-Romanian translator for [Daniel Pipes] , director of the Middle East Forum. He translates Mr. Pipes's weekly column in "The New York Sun", "The Jerusalem Post" , "USA Today", "Front Page Magazine" and "The National Interest".

Hervian currently lives in New Jersey with his wife.
