WWED is a Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Spotsylvania, Virginia, and serving the Fredericksburg area. WWED is owned and operated by Educational Media Corporation.

Power increase

WWED has requested a big increase in power from the current 380 watts to 10,000 watts and tacking on an extra 62 feet to their current tower location. According to [http://www.vartv.com VARTV.com] , "This is all contingent on WTVR-TV/6 Richmond shutting down its analog TV signal on February 17, 2009. If that date gets pushed back, so does EMC's request."

Format Flip

In Mid-September 2007, WWED switched formats replacing its Positive Country/Southern Gospel with Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel. The station is simulcasted on the WWEM-FM 91.7 located in Rustburg, Virginia, near Lynchburg.
