Tom Penford (born 5 January 1985 in Leeds, England) is an English footballer who plays in midfield for Conference North side Farsley Celtic. He played for Bradford City from 1995 to 2008, until he was released after playing 38 league games.

Career

Penford joined Bradford City's youth team set up when he was ten years old.cite news

publisher=BBC Sport] He made his first team debut at Preston North End on 26 April 2003 in a 1–1 draw as City headed towards relegation to League One under Bryan Robson. Penford made a further two appearances that season.

But in four more seasons, Penford has found first team opportunities difficult to come by and had made just 23 first team appearances in five seasons by the end of the 2006–07 season. New manager Stuart McCall gave him a run in the side during March 2008, and he scored his first senior goal in a 3–1 win at Darlington on 29 March. [cite news
