Agios Stefanos, rare form: Ayios Stefanos (Greek: Άγιος Στέφανος meaning Saint Stephen) is a Greek village located 19 km south of Patras and west of the Patras Industrial Area. Agios Stefanos had a population of 185 for the village and 950 for the municipal district in 2001 for the village. Agios Stefanos is also in the municipality of Oleni since 1997. Agios Stefanos is connected with the road linking the GR-9/E55 (Patras - Pyrgos - Kyparissia and Fares as well as the GR-33 (Patras - Tripoli.

Geography

Agios Stefanos is situated in a hilly area that stretches from south of Gomosto to Ovrya. The valley lies to the east, farmlands are in valley and hilly areas, forests and grasslands are founded in ravines. Its main production are fruits including watermelon, melon, figs and vegetables including corn, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, cucumbers and others as well as dairy, livestock, olives and others. The majority of the population are based in other businesses as well as agriculture.

Residential and other buildings are within the main and farm roads.

Houses were stone-built until the 1950s and did not surpass modern-style homes until the 1980s. It was linked with pavement in the 1980s. Most of the homes are abandoned today.

After World War II and the Greek Civil War, much of the population left for larger towns and cities especially the nearby Patras.

Agios Stefanos has a school, a lyceum (middle school), a church, and a square ("plateia"), its nearest school gymnasium (secondary school) are in Loussika. Its nearest hospital is in Patras at Agios Andreas.
