Shraavana

Shraavana

Shraavana (Hindi: सावन "saavan" or श्रावण "shraavan") is a month of the Hindu calendar, also known as Sawan. In India's national civil calendar, Shraavan is the tenth month of the year, beginning on 23rd July and ending on 22nd August for year 2008.

In lunar religious calendars, Shraavana may begin on either the new moon or the full moon around the same time of year, and is usually the tenth month of the year.

In solar religious calendars, Shraavan begins with the Sun's entry into Cancer, and is usually the fourth month of the year.
