Career

Latham was born on September 16, 1852, in Utica, New York, and is credited as the first major league player from that town.cite web| title = Mowhawk Valley Hall of Fame | work = uticaod.net | url=http://www.uticaod.net/site_html/SPECIAL_CONTENT/halloffame/sports/griffin_mike.htm | accessdate = 2008-04-12 ] He first played in professional organized baseball in by|1875 for two teams in the National Association, the Boston Red Stockings, and the New Haven Elm Citys.
