Character

After the death of his wife, Danny Tanner invites his brother-in-law Jesse and his best friend Joey to help him raise his three daughters, D.J., Stephanie and Michelle. The show follows the everyday lives of the Tanners and the comedy that often comes out of their struggles. As the baby of the family, Michelle often receives extra attention, leading Michelle's two older siblings, D.J and Stephanie, to be jealous of her.

Michelle shares a special bond with her Uncle Jesse; they are "best pals". When Michelle was an infant, her favorite plaything was a dish rag, even after Danny, Jesse, and Joey built her a tree house. At the age of two, she had her first crush, on a playful and good-natured boy named Howie. Eventually, Howie had had to move back to Nebraska. To cheer her up, Jesse wrote her a song entitled "Michelle Smiling" and Rebecca, Howie's aunt, made a video of Howie at the airport. The two finally saw each other again in the following season at first grossed out by each other but later they became friends. In Season 4, Uncle Jesse marries Rebecca, and the couple have twins the following year on Michelle's fifth birthday when the family looked over Michelle's baby book they decided to take a photo of her to put into it when they decided to put it on the last page and end the book Jesse stated when the twins were born they would make a book for them. So Michelle got angry and stormed off because she thought she was not Danny's little princess anymore then Danny said to her that no matter how old she got she would always be his little princess. They were 4 years old in the final season.

When she was younger, Michelle had a mischievous personality; she once stole Stephanie's favorite stuffed bear and led her sister to believe it had simply been lost. Eventually, Michelle owned up to stealing the bear and returned it. As the seasons passed, Michelle grew more mature. Michelle was 8 years old in the final season of Full House. In one season, the family built Joey a bedroom in the basement. One reason being that D.J felt sorry for him because he had to sleep in the cold and he didn't have a bed or closet to keep his clothes in. Apparently Danny taught Michelle to be a neat freak but regretted it when the rest of the family had a meeting. Michelle had two nicknames throughout the shows run. She was called Squirt by D.J's Friend Kimmy Gibbler who hangs around the house a lot but Michelle did not like the nickname and always said "Don't Call Me That!" and Uncle Jesse always called her Munchkin and she seemed to like that. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen nearly left the show after the 1st season because their real-life mother was concerned about them missing out on having a "normal" childhood. After a significant raise in salary from the show's producers, she agreed to let them continue. Their mother also let them stay because they became so popular.(They also faced the other challenge of almost being split up at age 8).

Friendships

In season 3 when Michelle entered preschool, she met a boy named Aaron, who, that day, was able to wear the sharing crown because he brought his toys in. The two eventually became friends and stayed friends throughout the series. Also from season 5 to season 6 she was friends with a boy named Teddy. The two enjoyed doing many things together—it was revealed that they enjoyed dotting each others I's. When the two were in First Grade Teddy had to move to Texas. Michelle, saddened by the news, tied him up in her room tricking him into thinking she was teaching him how to jump rope. But he was eventually untied and he gave Michelle his special toy and Michelle gave him her special stuffed pig "Pinky". Later, the two said they would write to each other. Teddy moved back in season 7.

That same episode Michelle made a new friend named Denise who then sat in Teddy's old seat and she learned how to cross T's. They were friends for the rest of the show. She at first didn't want a new best friend, but she did like Denise. Michelle also made many other friends throughout the series.

In season 7, Michelle, Teddy, and Denise got into a big fight when Michelle's dad came in to class for Parent Volunteer day and gave an assignment to trace your best friend, leading Michelle to believe that you could only have one best friend. Then the three had trouble deciding who to trace, leading to Michelle taking advantage of the situation and she said she would pick who gave her the best stuff, but she didn't say it in words; the three eventually made up in the end after Michelle picked Comet the dog as her best friend.

Mary-Kate and Ashley after the show

After Full House, the twins acted in a varied range of works many works being produced by ABC, such as To Grandmother's House We Go (1992), a Christmas television movie, and the film It Takes Two (1995). During the mid-1990s, they acted in 2 musical video series', You're Invited to Mary-Kate & Ashley's... (1995–2003) and the mystery-themed The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley (1994–97).

The duo returned to the small screen in sitcom Two of a Kind (1998–99), closing out the decade in the TV movie Switching Goals (1999). By now in their teens, both had roles in the sitcom So Little Time, in 2001–02. Their voices and likeness also featured in a Toon Disney television series titled Mary-Kate and Ashley in Action! (2001–02). Their last theatrical outing together – their first since It Takes Two – was the 2004 comedy teen film New York Minute. Bob Saget, who played the girls' dad in Full House even had a cameo role in New York Minute as himself. Mary-Kate battled with and received treatment for anorexia around the time of its release. [2][3] Mary-Kate will star as Kendra in the upcoming 2011 film Beastly, which is a 2011 film adaptation of the Alex Flinn novel of the same name.[4] She is working on a new film Story Of A Girl, currently in pre-production, having landed the role of Stacey. Ashley is not currently working on any acting projects; she continues to work as a fashion designer on high-end fashion brand The Row, which she co-founded with her twin, along with the diffusion line Elizabeth & James. It is also known that The Olsen twins have a Private company known as Dualstar The company publishes the movies the Twins acted in together. Mary-Kate made frequent apprences in the ABC Television Series Weeds in 2007. Mary-Kate and Ashley were also on Ellen and many other talk shows even when they were kids. It is now stated that the duo would like to be referred to as "Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen" instead of "The Olsen Twins". In an interview with Hollywood Life, Candace Cameron Bure, who played D.J. Tanner, revealed that she doesn't keep in touch with the Olsens.[5] John Stamos has now announced that a Full House movie might be in the making.[6]

Crediting

The directors and producers of Full House did not want people to know that Michelle was played by a set of twins, so the girls were credited as Mary-Kate Ashley Olsen for most of the show's run. It wasn't until the final season that they were credited Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Despite the fact that the Olsens are fraternal twins, their physical appearances were nonetheless similar enough so that few could tell the difference between the two over the course of the show's run. In Season 1, Mary-Kate was used more often due to the fact Ashley cried when she was put on set for a scene. Most people think they are identical due to the song that the duo made which was titled "Identical Twins".[7]

The Honey Bees

From season 6 to season 8 Michelle was a Honey Bee (Spin off of Girl Scouts). Her sisters D.J and Stephanie were honey bees before her. It is known that D.J sold 725 jars of honey during her time as a honey bee. It is unknown how much Michelle sold.

Comet The Dog

In the Third Season of Full House The Tanner family decided that they needed a good dog around the house so in the 7th episode of that season titled "And They Call It Puppy Love" they adopted one and they named the dog Comet. Michelle grew a big bond with Comet, she even dog-sat for him. The others had a great relationship with him too. In Season 6 When Uncle Jesse was on tour in Tokyo Michelle decided to dig a hole to Tokyo and she asked Comet to dig. In Season 8.The last season of the show Comet ran away and Michelle chased all around San Francisco to bring him home That was the only episode that was actually filmed in San Francisco.[8] And by the end Comet came home.

Book Series

Shortly during or shortly after the show a book series was made for Michelle and Stephanie. The stories took place mainly during the later seasons. The stories included the sisters' friends and also many other characters. The plots mainly focused on the characters' struggles and triumphs. Michelle was about 9 years old and Stephanie in her tweens. The books were mainly published in the 1990s.[9]
