Kariong is a locality of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, located to the west of Gosford along the Central Coast Highway. It is part of the City of Gosford local government area.

Kariong includes a considerable section of the Brisbane Water National Park to the south, and the Mount Penang Parklands, with its native gardens, location of the annual Australian Springtime Flora Festival.

Kariong contains 2 small light commercial hubs, one consists of a medical centre, service station, video store, grocery store, chinese takeaway, real estate, bakery and tavern. The other consists of a service station, a butchers, a fruit shop, a pizza shop, a library, 2 real estates, a mechanic and a take-away.

Kariong is the considered the entry point to the Central Coast as it borders the Sydney Newcastle Freeway and it's the first major exit leading to the region.
