Lake Park High School is a public four-year high school comprising two campuses, both located in Roselle, Illinois. West Campus is located in the western part of the town, with East Campus (the original campus) located at the eastern edge of town, near Medinah, Illinois. Both towns are western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is the part of Lake Park High School District 108. Students from Medinah, Roselle, Bloomingdale, Keeneyville, Wood Dale, Itasca, and Hanover Park attend Lake Park.

History

The name Lake Park is derived from the both campuses being between Lake Street and Irving Park Road. The east campus borders the Medinah Country Club that has hosted three U.S. Opens (1949, 1975, 1990), two PGA Championships (1999, 2006), and will host the Ryder Cup in 2012.

Academics

In 2006, Lake Park have an average composite ACT score of 22. That year, 94.1% of Lake Park's senior class graduated. The average class size is 21.2. Lake Park has not made Adequate Yearly Progress on the Prairie State Achievements Examination, a state test part of the No Child Left Behind Act. It also offers honors, advanced, and standard courses for most classes.

Lake Park offers more than 40 extracurricular activities: Career and Hobby Organizations, Competitive Organizations, Honorary Organizations, Performance Organizations, Publications, Service and Prevention Organizations, and Spirit Organizations.=The Rock=There is a rock in front of Lake Park's West campus that has been painted on many occasions. It is a high school urban legend that this rock started as a pebble and grew bigger due to layers of paint. This rock is painted by athletics such as football or volleyball or classes such as German. There is also another rock located next to the football fields. That rock is not painted nearly as much as the one in front of the campus, but it is still painted on occasion.
