Corinne West is an American singer-songwriter, born and raised in California, who started singing and writing songs at five years of age. She dropped out of high school and joined a group of artists touring the United States in a bus and began her music busking career.[1] Returning to California, she formed her first band in her early twenties and released her debut CD, Bound For the Living in 2004.[1] West is known for her singing and original songwriting which is based in Americana music. Her songwriting has been met with much critical acclaim and also secured her a position as a finalist in the 2005 New Folk competition at the Kerrville Folk Festival.[2] She maintains an almost constant and extensive touring schedule throughout the world, and in the past she was performing with a changing cast of backing musicians. In July, 2006 she was featured in an interview on the BBC2 radio program, Bob Harris Country. The BBC radio airplay resulted in a tour of England and Ireland in early 2007.[1]
West's 2007 album, Second Sight features a number of notable guests, including: Dobro player, Jerry Douglas, mandolinist, Mike Marshall, and Darol Anger on fiddle.[3]
Corinne released The Promise in 2009 which she co-produced with Doug Cox. The Promise was recorded in Canada.[4]
In 2010 she released Magnetic Skyline - a 6-song, 26-minute EP - with Kelly Joe Phelps.[5]
