KQTH (104.1 FM) is a commercial radio station located in Tucson, Arizona. KQTH airs news/talk programming branded as "The Truth".

History

Throughout most of its time, it ran under the name "104-1 The Point" and played a lot more '80s than most adult contemporary stations. The station was doing well and getting good ratings up and did a good job separating itself from KMXZ-FM's audience until about 2004. This was sort of a "blooming" time for stations flipping to adult contemporary formats. KWMT-FM did so in 2003 and KSZR did so in November 2004 which really weakened The Point's audience. Some people that used to listen to KZPT moved to KWMT-FM's "The Mountain" or KSZR's "BOB FM". By 2005 their ratings were suffering so badly that there were various rumors of format changes. Some rumors said KZPT would flip to an hurban format and others said they were flipping to a country music format. Some of the DJ's were Darla Thomas, Angie Handa, Kathy Rivers, Greg Curtis, Sheila K, and Drew Michaels. Darla Thomas is now the Operations Manager for all the Tucson radio stations owned by Journal Broadcast Group. Greg Curtis is now part of the morning team at sister station KMXZ.

Then in 2006 KZPT changed their branding to "Z104.1". Their playlist is still a majority of what "The Point" used to play, only taking out the '80s music and adding more alternative rock with the slogan "Modern Hit Music". They had also added Ken Carr to their DJ line-up, who hosted afternoons on KRQQ.

On April 10, 2007, the station had switched to "The Truth", a news/conservative talk format, featuring news from ABC and KGUN, a local ABC television affiliate also owned by Journal Broadcast Group. The station carries syndicated programming, including Laura Ingraham, Neal Boortz, Bill O'Reilly, Michael Savage, Greg Knapp, Jerry Doyle, and has a local morning show hosted by a personality named Jon Justice. On April 17, 2007, KZPT changed their call letters to KQTH.
