Professional qualifications in the United Kingdom

Professional qualifications in the United Kingdom

Professional qualifications in the United Kingdom are generally awarded by professional bodies in line with their charters. These qualifications are subject to the European directives on professional qualifications. Most, but not all, professional qualifications are 'Chartered' qualifications, and follow on from having completed a degree (or equivalent qualification). The lists below give the professional qualifications to which the European regulations apply:

"The following list gives the professional title, designatory letters and designated body for professional qualifications regulated by professional bodies that follow on from a relevant degree."
