The origin of the name Jellingspot

The origin of the name "Jellingspot" was born out of the same historical framework as the name Bluetooth.

"The name Bluetooth was born from the 10th century king of Denmark, King Harold Bluetooth who engaged in diplomacy which led warring parties to negotiate with each other. The inventors of the Bluetooth wireless technology thought this a fitting name for their technology which allowed different devices to talk to each other.":(See description of Bluetooth for more information.)

King Bluetooth, in celebration of his achievements, commissioned multiple runestones in the Danish town of Jelling to boast of his successes. These are famously called the Jelling stones. Being that these stones were the actual devices to transmit his message, the founders of Midletsoft decided to call their Bluetooth wireless technology using solution Jellingspot, in honor of the Jelling stones and the fact that their technology was used to transmit information to specific locations.
