Destiny's Child discography Releases ↙Studio albums 5 ↙Compilation albums 1 ↙EPs 1 ↙Singles 17 ↙Video albums 3 ↙Music videos 20 The discography of the R&B girl group Destiny's Child, consists of four studio albums, one compilation album, one holiday album, one remix album, one extended play, nineteen singles and three video albums.
Destiny's Child released their self-titled debut album in the United States in February 1998 and it peaked at number sixty-seven on the Billboard 200.[1] It earned a platinum certification in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[2] The album's lead single, "No, No, No", reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum by the RIAA.[2] Its follow-up singles, "With Me Part 1" and "Get on the Bus" failed to reproduce the success of "No, No, No". After the success of their debut album, Destiny's Child released The Writing's on the Wall, in July 1999 and eventually became their breakthrough album peaking at number five on the Billboard 200. "Bills, Bills, Bills" was released as the album's lead single and reached the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100, becoming their first US number-one single. The album's third single, "Say My Name", topped the Billboard Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks. The album eventually sold over eight million copies in the United States, gaining eight-times platinum certification by the RIAA.[2] The fourth single, "Jumpin' Jumpin'", also became a top-ten hit. Destiny's Child then recorded the theme song for the film version of Charlie's Angels. Released as a single in the US in October 2000, "Independent Women Part 1" spent eleven consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 and was the longest running number-one of that year in the United States.[3]
Third album, Survivor, was released in the spring of 2001 and entered the Billboard 200 at number one. The third single from that album "Bootylicious" reached number 1 in the United States as the title track , "Survivor" and reached #2 in the United States and were also successful in other countries. The album was certified four-times platinum in the United States[2] and double platinum in Australia.[4] In October 2001, the group released a holiday album, 8 Days of Christmas, which contained updated versions of several Christmas songs and managed to reach number thirty-four on the Billboard 200. In February 2001, Destiny's Child won two Grammy awards for "Say My Name": Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group and Best R&B Song.[5] In March 2002, a remix compilation titled This Is the Remix was released to win fans over before a new studio album would be released.[6]
After a three year hiatus working on solo projects, the group reunited to record their fourth and final studio album, Destiny Fulfilled in November 2004. The album reached number two in the US and was certified three-time platinum. Four singles were released from the album: the lead "Lose My Breath", "Soldier", "Cater 2 U" and "Girl"; the first two reached number three in the United States. On June 11, 2005, whilst in the middle of their worldwide concert tour, Destiny Fulfilled... and Lovin' It Tour in Barcelona, Spain, the group announced their breakup to facilitate their continued pursuit in individual aspirations and that naming the album Destiny Fulfilled was not a coincidence of sort.[7] The group then released their greatest hits album, #1's, in October 2005 including three new tracks; "Stand Up For Love", and "Check on It", a song Knowles recorded for The Pink Panther's soundtrack. The debuted at number one in the US. "Stand Up For Love" was released as Destiny's Child's last single.
Destiny's Child has sold over 17.5 million albums in the US alone, and Billboard magazine ranks the group as one of the greatest female trios of all time, and inducted the group in 2008 into the All time Hot 100 Artist.[8][9][10]
