Miguel Ángel Pérez (born September 25, 1983 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a Venezuelan professional baseball catcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball. He bats and throws right-handed.

According to Baseball America, Perez was called the best catching prospect to ever come through the minor league system by one Cincinnati Reds official.

Pérez opened the 2005 season with Single-A Sarasota and hit .268 in 80 games before being promoted to Triple-A Louisville, where he hit .208 in 21 games. He made his major league debut with Cincinnati on September 7. In two games he went 0-for-3. He has not been in the major leagues since.

After the 2007 season, Pérez became a free agent. On December 21, 2007, the Pittsburgh Pirates signed Pérez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. After the 2008 season, he re-signed with the Pirates.[1] After spending 2009 in their organization, he played for the Akron Aeros in the Indians organization in 2010.

He signed with the Washington Nationals after the season, but was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates for a player to be named later or cash considerations on June 27, 2011.[2] He was traded back to Washington on August 9.
