Moorside Community Technology College is a secondary school in the south-west of Consett, County Durham near to Castleside. It is two miles from Consett town centre.
Admissions
It is for ages 9–16. Blackfyne also does not have a sixth form. The nearest sixth form is at Derwentside College.
History
The school gained technology specialist status in January 2005. There are plans to combine the two Consett secondary schools to form an Academy.
Academic performance
In 2004, it gained exceptionally good results at GCSE, being the seventh best school in Durham LEA, and the highest for those without a sixth form.
