Glasgow SpringburnMSP Patricia Ferguson Council area Glasgow City Party Labour Glasgow Maryhill and Springburn is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament (Holyrood). It will elect one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the plurality (first past the post) method of election. Also, it is one of nine constituencies in the Glasgow electoral region, which elects seven additional members, in addition to the nine constituency MSPs, to produce a form of proportional representation for the region as a whole.
The constituency was created in 2011 from a merger of the old Glasgow Maryhill and Glasgow Springburn constituencies.

Constituency boundaries
Following their First Periodic review into constituencies to the Scottish Parliament in time for the 2011 election, the Boundary Commission for Scotland has recommended the effective merger of the Glasgow Springburn and Glasgow Maryhill constituencies.
The electoral wards used in its creation are Maryhill / Kelvin, Springburn, and Canal (shared with neighbouring Kelvin).

Election Member Party 2011 Patricia Ferguson Labour - N.B. Paul Martin was the MSP for Glasgow Springburn from 1999-2011. Following the merger of the Maryhill and Springburn constituencies, Maryhill MSP Patricia Ferguson was selected as Labour candidate for the merged constituency, while Paul Martin stood in the newly created constituency of Glasgow Provan.
