The album peaked at thirty-five on the U.S. Billboard 200 and reached the sixth spot on the R&B Albums chart.[4]

Speaking on the overall quality of the work, Dan Gizzi of Allmusic stated "every song isn't great but there are no bad ones either. This is an album that you might listen to from beginning to end, free of the impulse to fast-forward."[1]
