Damavand is a Iranian brand of mineral water coming from A'la sources of Damavand Mountains.

History

Having studied the mineral sources in Iran, French producer Perrier, approved the water from A'la source upon its specifications, and in 1973, founded the first bottling factory in Iran. In 1975 along with the construction work, a distance of 4 kilometers was piped from the source to the factory, and in 1977 the company reached the production point and thus a product branded "Cheshmeh" available in 20 lit, 4 lit, 1.5 lit PVC bottles hit the markets. In 1998, Ferminvest (Vichy) bought 70% of the company's shares and so by utilizing its experience and installing new technology it succeeded to develop the consumer's market and to increase the company's reputation and production with a new label: Damavand.

During 5 years of cooperation with Vichy, and acquisition of up to date knowledge in this area of technology, and installation of 2 newlines of 6000 and 20000 bottles per hour (B/H), this industry found great prosperity and was able to expand its activities inside and outside the country.

In 2002 Vichy transferred all of its holdings to DANONE, France's biggest and most creditable producer of bottled water and other food products, famous worldwide. Regarding its technological power and research facilities and also 150 subgroup companies active all around the world, DANONE was able to increase the quality of Damavand products.

In 2006 having studied consumer's market and the increase of demand, and also with the objective of export expansion, the company bought and installed a new production line with German Krones technology of 2007 at a volume of 36000 B/H for the first time in Iran and the middle east.

Having been taken into account for its great objectives, Damavand Mineral Waters Co. has achieved international certifications of ISO 22000 (food security), ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 9001 (quality management).
