Dalny (Russian: Дальний , literally meaning far) is an urban-type settlement west of Bilibino in Bilibinsky District (Raion), Chukotka Autonomous Okrug and part of the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia.

History

The settlement was abandoned as a result of the extraction of gold no longer being economically viable.[5] Despite the mines closing, the Kupol Gold Project environmental Impact assessment, still recorded three people remaining in the settlement as of 2005.[2] However, as of 2008 is in the process of being officially liquidated.[1]
