Science, Culture and Sport Minister of Israel

The Science, Culture and Sport Minister of Israel ( _he. שר המדע, התרבות והספורט, "Sar HaMida, HaTarbut VeHaSport") is the political head of the Israeli Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport and a relatively minor position in the Israeli cabinet. The current minister is Labour's Raleb Majadele, who is the first Muslim Arab minister in Israel's history.

The post has undergone several name changes:
*1982-84: Minister of Science and Development
*1984-88: Minister of Science and Technology
*1988-93: Minister of Science and Development
*1993-96: Minister of Science and the Arts
*1996-97: Minister of Science
*1997-99: Minister of Science and Technology
*1999: Minister of Science
*1999-02: Minister of Science, Culture, and Sport
*2003-04: Minister of Science and Technology
*2006-present: Minister of Science, Culture, and Sport

Between 1949 and 1999, and again from 2003 until 2006, culture was part of the Education Minister portfolio. Similarly, sport was part of the Education Minister post between 1994 and 1999 and 2003 and 2006.

There was once a Deputy Minister.
