Cassandra (Cassy) Stanwell O'Connor [cite web|url=http://www.parliament.tas.gov.au/ha/halist.pdf|title=House of Assembly - List of Members|date=July 2008] (born 1 April 1967 in Canberra, ACT)cite news|url=http://www.news.com.au/mercury/story/0,22884,24058399-3462,00.html|title=Convincing win to O'Connor in recount|publisher=The Mercury|date=2008-07-22|accessdate=2008-08-04] is an Australian politician, who has been a Tasmanian Greens member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly since 2008, representing the electorate of Division of Denison. She won the seat on a countback of votes on July 21 2008 after the sitting member and leader of the Tasmanian Greens Peg Putt resigned earlier in the month.cite news|url=http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/07/21/2309804.htm|title=New member for Denison|publisher=ABC News|date=2008-07-21|accessdate=2008-08-04]

Prior to entering Parliament, O'Connor had worked as a television news journalist and a political staffer for both Duncan Kerr and Christine Milne. She is also well known in Tasmania as being the face of "Save Ralphs Bay", a community campaign which began in March 2004, when Sydney-based developer Walker Corporation announced its intention to construct Tasmania's first canal housing estate in the Ralphs Bay Conservation Area east of Hobart.

As the Tasmanian Greens' Member for Denison, Cassy has shadow portfolio responsibility for Health (and Human Services), Environment (including Threatened Species and Coastal Policy), Tourism, Parks and Heritage, Antarctic Affairs, Women, Multicultural Affairs, Youth and the Arts.

Married and a mother of four, she also remains an active member of Save Ralphs Bay Inc.
