It is part of Gulliver Schools, whose first campus was established in 1926 by Arthur Gulliver and whose newest campus was recently established by Marian Krutulis, the current director of Gulliver Schools, in 1994.

chool's History and philosophy

Gulliver Academy was established in 1926 by Arthur Gulliver in Miami’s residential Coconut Grove section. After purchasing the school, Marian Krutulis moved the school to South Dade, an area that would soon undergo a major population explosion. Centered in Coral Gables, there are now five campuses today, each serving a specific age group or targeting a particular student interest or need. Gulliver Preparatory School, opened in 1975, serves students in grade nine through grade twelve and is located nearby in what came to be known as the Village of Pinecrest.

chool's mission statement and beliefs

Athletics

Gulliver Preparatory's sports program consists of thirty-five teams, supported by two cheerleading squads. Over the years, Gulliver's teams have won district, regional, sectional, state runner-up and state championships, as well as numerous conference championships. Gulliver's success in athletics is primarily a recent phenomenon, and the school has come under fire for offering athletic scholarships to students, reducing the athletic opportunities available to students paying full tuition. Gulliver has an athletic rivalry with cross-town Ransom Everglades.

Gulliver competes in the 3A classification. The "Miami Herald" awarded Gulliver the All Sports Award for having the top program for small schools in Miami-Dade County, and the Florida High School Activities Association ranked Gulliver Schools 2nd in the state in the 3A classification.

The men's cross-country team became the first team to win back to back state titles in Miami-Dade county. This effort was matched by Belen Jesuit when they claimed the 2007 and 2008 titles.

The men's soccer team won the 2A state championship in 1992, 1996, 1999, 2000 and 2006

The football team was led to a 2A state championship on 2000-2001 by Sean Taylor

The girl's water polo team has won 8 consecutive state championships (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008)
