Mohammed al Abbar

Mohammed al Abbar is the director general of Dubai Department of Economic Industrial Development (1992–present) and chairman of the Dubai-based properties company Emaar Properties (1997–present).

Al Abbar had an American education and was known for his interest in developing the economy of the region and creating alliences with major economic powers and minds in the world. In his leadership of Dubai Department of Economic development, he stimulated the drive to introduce private sector practices in the Government of Dubai. Those include quality management, government revenue diversification and customer focus.
