"Paint It Blacker" (labelled as Plan B Presents Paint It Blacker: The Bootleg Album) is a limited edition bootleg album from UK rapper Plan B. The mixtape was produced by Sem, Beni G, J33, Analog Kid and Plan B himself. It was first distributed during the January-February 2007 tour and later by the way of a free online download [http://nuckinfang.blogspot.com/2008/08/download-plan-b-mixtape.html] .

Inspiration

The mixtape samples other, mostly rock, musicians' music to which Plan B raps over with his own lyrics. While many of the songs feature totally new lyrics, not all of the work from Plan B is fresh. The third track, for example, takes the lyrics from the title track of his debut album, Who Needs Actions When You Got Words, but uses the instrumental of Nirvana performing their notorious Unplugged in New York concert, from which the title was taken. Also 'Missing Links', another track from his album, is the original version he recorded featuring Radiohead's 'Pyramid Song' - this version had to be dropped from the album and replaced with an unplugged instrumental, featuring a simpler guitar, cello and drums, as Radiohead did not give him permission to use it [cite web | first = UKHH.com | title = Plan B interview by Nikesh | url=http://www.ukhh.com/features/interviews/planb/index2.html | accessdate = 2007-02-03 ] .
