The Ministry of Culture of Egypt is a ministry responsible for maintaining and promoting the culture of Egypt. The current Minister is Dr. Emad Badr El-Din Mahmoud Abu Ghazy.

In January 2001, the Egyptian Ministry of Culture was criticised for withdrawing three novels of homoerotic poetry by the well-known 8th Century Persian-Arab poet Abu Nuwas from circulation [1].
