* 1872 – The Columbus and Toledo Railroad is incorporated.
* 1881 – Albert Bowman Rogers on his birthday discovers the pass through the Rocky Mountains that would bear his name, Rogers Pass.

* 1990 – An Alaska Railroad train derails 19 tank cars near Dunbar. Approximately 170,000 gallons of diesel and jet fuel are spilled; the cleanup efforts last nearly three weeks.
