Medenine (Arabic: مدنينMadanīyīn) is one of the 24 governorates (provinces) of Tunisia. It is situated in south-eastern Tunisia. It covers an area of 8,588 km² and had a population of 432,503 at the 2004 census. The governorate includes the offshore island of Djerba, but the capital is Medenine, located on the mainland.
