Great Lakes (band)

Great Lakes is an American rock band originally from Athens, Georgia, loosely affiliated historically with the Elephant 6 Recording Company.

The group is centered around the songwriting partnership of Dan Donahue and Ben Crum. Their lineup has at times included members of Of Montreal, Elf Power, The Essex Green, The Ladybug Transistor, and Neutral Milk Hotel.

Great Lakes released their self-titled debut album in 2000 on Kindercore Records, which was preceded by a 7" single on Happy Happy Birthday to Me. After releasing a number of other singles, including a split with Elf Power, they released their second album, "The Distance Between", on Orange Twin in 2002. Their third and most recent album, "Diamond Times", came out in 2006 on Empyrean Records.
