Kamyaran ( _ku. Kamyaran, _fa. کامیاران) is a city in Kurdistan Province of Iran. Its estimated population as of 2006 is 46,760. [http://www.amar.org.ir/portal/faces/public/census85/census85.natayej/census85.informationfile/] .

The city of Kamyaran is located at the south end of Kurdistan Province between two major kurdish cities Sanandaj and Kermanshah. The inhabitants of Kamyaran are Kurdish and mainly follow the Shafi'i school of Sunni Islam; however there is a Shia minority as well as a few Jewish families in Kamyaran.

The population of Kamyaran tripled in a matter of two decades (1975-1995) due to mass immigration from nearby villages.

Tengiwer cuneiform inscription is located 45 Kilometers Northwest of Kamyaran. The inscription consists of 47 lines in cuneiform which had been carved in Assyrian language. The inscription refers to the Sargon II, Assyrian King, on which his captures of Arpad, Simirra, Damacsus, Egypt and other countries have been inscribed. The inscription dates back to around the eighth century before Christ [http://www.christiansofiraq.com/ancientassyrurmia.html] .
