Nawab Ali Tariq

Nawab Ali Tariq, known as Nawab Ali Khan, is a writer and social welfare activist. He speaks Pashthu/Pushtho, English, Urdu and some regional languages. He has six daughters and five sons (mashallah).

Early life

Nawab Ali Tariq was born in the village of Beka, NWFP Swabi on 2 June 1940. He is the eldest son of the late Haji Mohabat Khan. Hiji Mohabbat Khan was a prosperous landlord and wanted his son to get the best available education. He started his education at the Government High School Tordhera Swabi District.He graduated with a Master degree in English literature from the University of Peshawar. He got an Engineering Diploma and then went to Europe, China and England for specialist training.

Career

On returning from England he worked as a Principal in Technical Education and went to Italy, France, Austria, Poland, andf the Middle East for further training and development..

To improve people's basic life and standard of education, Nawab ran projects to increase literacy, manpower, and skills. He implemented World Bank Projects e.g. Broad base programme, Gazi brotha, and also Prime Minister programme, Pak-Swiss programme and Pak-German Programme.

Social welfare work

To move forward his father Haji Mohabat Khan's mission of education he tried to found a Girls High schools. The land was given by his father Haji Mohabat Khan for a primary school. Nawab knew that female education was important to a country

After visiting his son in the UK in 2000, Nawab understood that English Language and Computer literacy are essential to young people. He gave his brother a new bungalow for the English Model school to help people with English language and computer literacy.

He conducted English courses in Pak-Almania Institute Abbottabad, about 55 girls have passed their ILETS test.In the English Model School around 300 children are receiving education.

Nawab sahib also gave land for the Islamic women Institute of Learning, Nawab is looking for a sponsor to build this institute. The women will receive Deni, Health, Computer and English education.

Publication

He has written four books, Naseem Saghar, Payaar ki Manzaal (in Urdu), Eleven Star (in English), and is working on Zandagi (in Urdu).
