Torrance, California , the son of Elyse (née Pollack) and Richard Call. He has two sisters, Dee Anne and Tandi, and a brother, Dustin.While leaving the set after a taping session for
Step by Step (TV series) in September 1996, Call was attacked by an unknown gunman. It appears that this was a random attack, and the gunman did not know who he was attacking. Though he was shot in both arms, Call was not seriously injured, and he made a full recovery.
