Edgar Victor Gonzalez (born June 14, 1978 in city-state|San Diego|California) is an infielder for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball.

Gonzalez made his major league debut on May 12, by|2008, when he came in the game as a defensive replacement at third base against the Chicago Cubs. He went 1-2 with an RBI in his debut. Edgar received a lucky break when second baseman Tadahito Iguchi became injured opening a starting position for the rookie second baseman.
