Mark Robert Worrell (born March 8, 1983 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida) is an American professional baseball pitcher.

Playing career

He was called up to the major leagues by the St. Louis Cardinals on June 1, 2008, and made his debut on June 3.

On June 5, 2008 Worrell hit a three-run home run in his first major league at-bat.[1]

On December 4, 2008, he was traded to the San Diego Padres for shortstop Khalil Greene. On December 12, 2009 Worrell was non-tendered.[2]

Worrell is not related to former Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Todd Worrell or his brother Tim.

On January 7, 2010, Worrell signed a minor league contract to return to the San Diego Padres; he is expected to miss the first half of the 2010 season as he continues his recovery from Tommy John surgery.

On July 1, 2010, Worrell signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners.

On July 14, 2010, Worrell was released by the Tacoma Rainiers.

On February 1, 2011, Worrell signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles. He was called up by Baltimore on July 17.
