Cape Apostolos Andreas

Cape Apostolos Andreas

Cape Apostolos Andreas (Cape Saint Andrew) is the north-easternmost point (promontory) of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus (coord|35|41.70|N|34|35.20|E|display=inline,title). It lies at the tip of the finger-like Karpass Peninsula.

The cape is currently out of control of the Republic of Cyprus due to the ongoing Occupation Of Cyprus. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus call the promontory "Zafer Burnu (Cape Zafer)".

The famous Apostolos Andreas Monastery is located just south of the promontory itself. It is listed by the United Nations as a World Heritage site.
