Ian Reid (educator)

Dr Ian Reid is an Australian educator who specailises in Online Education. He also has a background in mathematics education. Most recently, he provided Academic Development services to academic staff in the Division of Health Sciences at the University of South Australia. Prior to that he was Associate Director of the Flexible Learning Centre (Online Education) at the University of South Australia. He was responsible for development of the online teaching and learning environment across the University, UniSAnet (http://www.unisanet.unisa.edu.au ). Ian’s background is in education at the secondary and tertiary level and has worked in web based education since 1997.

He chairs the Education and Training track of the annual AUSWEB http://ausweb.scu.edu.au conference, and is a member of the executive of the National Organisation for E-Learning. Ian is also a member of the Editorial Board of the [http://www.aace.org/pubs/ijel/ International Journal on E-Learning] and the [http://jite.org/ Journal of Information Technology Education] , and referees papers for the annual [http://www.ascilite.edu.au ASCILITE] conference. His research interests include institutional strategy for online education and its relationship with quality assurance, and he has published widely in these areas.
