Kesher Israel

Kesher Israel is an Orthodox synagogue located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Barry Freundel is its rabbi.

The synagogue attracted media attention when a member, Senator Joseph Lieberman, was nominated for vice president on the Democratic Party ticket. History

The congregation was founded in 1910, in 1915 it acquired, renovated and began to meet in a building on the location of the present synagogue, which was constructed in 1935. [Olitzky, Kerry M.
