Kitchen Witchcraft

Kitchen Witchcraft

Kitchen Witchcraft or Kitchen Witchery, is a form of witchcraft wherein the substitution of mundane items for magical items is encouraged. Only the intent is believed to be required.

This practice dates back to the Medieval times, when magic was shunned.

For example, a kitchen knife may be substituted for an athame.

In fiction

The practice of witchcraft in Terry Pratchett's "Discworld" series shares many commonalities, particularly the brand practiced by Nanny Ogg.
