Group History

Hot Commodity was a group formed around the final years of ECW. The group was formed by then ECW newcomer EZ Money, who debuted with Elektra as his manager. After a brief undefeated streak, EZ Money began forming alliances with other mid-carders--usually relying on Elektra's sex appeal to win them over--that grew to three members strong. The first person to join him was "Confederate Currency" Chris Hammerick, helping EZ Money win a match against Julio Fantastico, with whom he had a brief feud. Finding the tandem too much to overcome, Julio Fantastico joined Money and Hammerick, and renamed himself Julio Dinero. The group usually maintained mid-card status, never really being involved in any major storylines at the time. The group would stay together until ECW declared backruptcy in 2001, and was subsequently shut down.

Facts

*None of the members of Hot Commodity ever managed to win singles or tag team gold in ECW.
*All of the members of Hot Commodity (besides Elektra) had ring names that related to money. (I.E. EZ Money - "easy money"; "Confederate Currency" Chris Hammerick - is of Southern hailing and is named so by the currency system developed by Rebel states in the American Civil War; Julio Dinero - "dinero" is Spanish for "money")
