Titan Airways is a British charter airline based at London Stansted Airport, United Kingdom. It operates contract and ad hoc passenger and freight charters throughout the world. Short notice wet-lease charters for scheduled airlines are a speciality. It also provides VIP charters for clients like the Rolling Stones and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

History

The airline was established in January 1988 and started operations on 1 February 1988. It was subject to a management buy-out on February 1992 and is now owned by Gene Willson (67%) and venture capital firm 3i (33%). Recently, Titan Airways has been working on behalf of various cruse ship companies: Fred. Olsen Cruises; Princess Cruises and Cunard.
