Sharon Nelson is a Democratic member of the Washington House of Representatives. She was appointed to the legislature in 2007 following the resignation of state rep. Joe McDermott, who resigned from the House to become a state senator. She represents the 34th Legislative District, which includes West Seattle, Vashon Island, Maury Island, and most of North Highline and Burien. She also is the Chief of Staff to King County Councilmember Dow Constantine.
